This Mother’s Day, Give Mom the Gift of Healthy Food

Remember when you mother used to hound, harass and harangue (the trifecta of alliterative nagging) you to eat properly?  She utilized both the carrot (get it?) and the stick in a futile attempt to get you to eat your fruit and veggies such as rewarding you with ice cream to get you to eat your broccoli.  Or punishing you with my personal favorite, “You’re not moving from that table until you eat your Brussel sprouts.”  And there you would sit, arms crossed, staring at those rapidly cooling Brussels while your mom cleaned up around you, washed the dishes and then finally wrapped those little green balls of sprouty goodness in cellophane to be served to you at breakfast.

And although it might have taken you decades, eventually you came to the realization that mom was correct…healthy eating isn’t that difficult and the reward is far worth the cost of sacrificing cookies, chocolate, and greasy fast food.  This epiphany usually occurs around the time you have a child of your own…go figure.  Now, you threaten your child with the confiscation of every device that has an “i” as its first letter unless they eat a banana.  “The more things change, the more they stay the same.” This epigram, attributed to French novelist, Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr, seems “apropos” in this instance.

Don’t you think this Mother’s Day (May 13th) it’s time to return the favor by assisting her in her endeavors to eat healthy?…just without forcing her to sit at the table until she eats her veggies.  As most of you know from my previous posts, which have gone viral…OK, my posts are actually the opposite of viral.  However, there appears to be no antonym for viral so let’s call them anti-viral, unviral, nonviral, or sucky.  You decide.  Where was I?  Oh yeah, as we age, our nutritional needs and eating habits change and, despite the fact that your mom might be less active than she once was, she still needs to eat and eat properly.

And that’s our cue.  By gifting a MagicKitchen.com meal package to your mom, you’re actually gifting for both of you.  Your mom gets nutritious and savory meals delivered right to her door and you have one less thing to worry about in your already busy life as mom will be eating healthy and won’t be forced to head to the grocery store, cook, and clean up 2-3 times per day, day after day.  MagicKitchen.com provides meal programs that offer one, two or three meals per day, to include breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Ordering is a breeze (what does that epigram mean, anyway) and the options are seemingly endless on either our complete meal or ala carte menu where you can order entrees, sides, soups and even
